Event Start: 9:00 AM

Join us for the 4th Annual WPS of Washington, Backyard March Back and be a part of something truly special. This "Do it Yourself" event is a powerful way to commemorate the milestone of the West Point Class of 2028, echoing the traditional march back that concludes "Beast Barracks." It also offers a unique opportunity for the USMA Class of 1978 to reconnect and participate if they couldn't make it back to West Point for the weekend event.

Empower your spirit and your group by bringing your own water and snacks, ensuring you're prepared for this meaningful journey. Arrive early to fuel up with a cup of coffee from Anthem Coffee, and stay after to celebrate your accomplishment with lunch at one of the fantastic eateries in Point Ruston.

This event is more than just a walk—it's a chance to honor traditions, build camaraderie, and create lasting memories. Let’s come together, support one another, and make this an unforgettable experience.
While it won't bring the terror of upper-class Cadets' roars, it may bring back the blisters!

Event Highlights:
Location: The event will start at Point Ruston at the Hip Hop Statue  and proceed to Point Defiance and back.

Route: The march covers approximately 4.8 miles on flat terrain with a total elevation change of about 275 feet. The route is on a hard surface sidewalk or street.

Community: Connect with fellow West Point alumni, new parents of the Long Gray Line, and the 50-year affiliation class.

Additional Information:
Parking: Please park at the Point Ruston parking garage. Download the App for best parking ability.

Attire: Wear comfortable walking shoes or boots and dress appropriately for the weather. West Point shirts or hats are encouraged. Rucksacks are optional.

Refreshments: Come early and grab a cup of coffee at Anthem Coffee. Stay afterward to enjoy one of the many eateries at Point Ruston.

Preparation: Bring your own water and snacks for the walk.

This event, sponsored by the West Point Society of Washington, is free for all participants, but space is limited to the first 150 sign-ups. To inspire more people to come out and enjoy the Tacoma parks, we have decreased the walk from 12 miles to 4.8 miles. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share stories, create new memories, and honor the traditions of West Point.

If you feel you cannot walk the entire 4.8 miles but would still like to participate, please contact us directly.
